A fictional photographer once spoke of the virtue of amateurism. This is the realm that I make an effort to keep myself in. While my photos have been used for advertising, on websites and brochures, and had photos published in magazines, as well as shooting weddings, events and personal portraits, photography remains a passion for me. As such, I am free to make beautiful works of art to share with friends, family and clients.
I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember. When I was eight years old my dad and I rebuilt an old camera, building a new back from scratch. I enjoyed taking many photos with that camera before the repairs finally failed and allowed too much light leakage onto the film.
I have and use both digital and 35mm cameras, which allows me to choose the best medium to shoot with depending on my subject matter. There is a different flow to the method of making pictures with film, whereas digital allows much faster feedback. Keeping both digital and 35mm cameras close at hand makes it easy to reach for the best camera to suit the occasion. Regardless of which camera I use, photos are delivered to my clients in high quality digital format which can be made into prints at most photo shops as well as on home printers.
